I have fallen in love with Zenna and the stories about her. She is very cool, she´s got style. I´m looking forward to more stories.

That's very nice to hear! I like her too. I've been pretty busy lately, but I think a new one (or two) will be completed soon.
If you ever have any suggestions or anything, feel free to let me know, either here or through a private message.

Anything with Necronomicons in it is fine with me, whether it's Lovecraftian, "Evil Dead" or this kind of thing. Good stuff. _________________ The truth is still out there. Will you be the one who finds it?

A new too-late-to-be-fashionably-late Zenna Zardonic story has been posted. It's in keeping with the season- er, last season, that is.

After seeing "Dawn of the Dead" I now can no longer (a) go to malls without trying to figure out the best place to find a weapon or (b) read/watch modern media featuring malls without thinking of it. It's beginning to become a bit of a problem for me.
So great story, even though it did suffer from a lack of the walking dead, it was a highly enjoyable read. _________________ The truth is still out there. Will you be the one who finds it?

Thanks for the encouraging comments, you two.
A "girl detectives" story involving zombies? An intriguing idea, though I'd bet it would be difficult to do.

Well, I don't know about that ... you'd be surprised what can turn up when girl detectives start snooping around! (Or, if you've read any of Toby's adventures, maybe you wouldn't!) _________________ Usikujumba, Lord of the Night

Glad you like 'em so far! I should warn you they're all terribly out of order- I think I'm going to reorganize them into the order they should be in one of these days. Not that I'm sure it matters, really, but it's probably something I should do. I keep on putting it off because I keep on writing stories chronologically in between the stories I've already written.
Anyway, let me know if you have any comments/critiques.

At last!
Alright, I'm caught up, Gogol. And I have to say, I love Zenna. So very much!
First off, she's got one of the smartest mouths on this site, if not THE smartest mouth. Her one-liners are always so much fun to read, and she's got such an endearing, yet rebellious personality.
Since Mall Madness is your latest, I'll comment on that. Otherwise, I'll be here all night praising you 8) The story was whimsical and a great deal of fun, creating a lighthearted affair that had so many chuckle-inducing moments. Really, Zenna steals the show with her wit and sharp tongue, not to mention her "crazy antics" (did I just say that? really...?). Plus, evil Santas and a trio of snotty thieves...there's a lot to love there, especially when it all comes together.
I also love your descriptions, since it helps me picture everything perfectly. Really, you've nailed your settings, your characters, and the action. That toy train with the blade was a work of brilliance, by the way. Chilling, yet adorable. And while I'm on the subject, your clothing style is also really chic - I may need tips from you since I'm very fashionably blah
I'm repeating myself, I know, but your dialogue is definitely one of your strongest suits. Not just Zenna's, either - it's all cleverly written, and your characters all show their own unique personality. I'm also impressed with your gag-talk, too - serious props for pulling off some truly hilarious subtleties (Leah's choice words for Ned come to mind).
So, yeah. I've seriously enjoyed your work, I'm pretty much caught up, and I'll be popping in here to comment on your latest updates when I'm around. Hope to see plenty more of Zenna, Gogol! _________________ ------------

I liked "The Chick's in the mail".
The title was also used by Esther Friesner. She did a whole series of "Amazon humor" (right up my alley) with titles like Chicks in Chain Mail, Chicks 'n' Chained Males, and the Chick's in the Mail. Pretty funny stuff. I read them when I was playing D&D. _________________ "My heart is my steering wheel, my brain's just along for the ride" -val

Thanks for all the kind words, Orpheus. I can listen to praise all night. I'm not altogether happy with the Mall story since I rushed the ending because it was sitting on the shelf for too long, but over all I'm pretty satisfied with it.
Usually I get fashion ideas by observing people, and by going to the website catalogs of clothing stores that seem appropriate for the character, i.e., hot topic, urban outfitters, american apparel, etc. I'm not great with fashion either and have to search a lot sometimes for the right word of what I mean.
I'm glad you liked the dialogue- most of it is original, though sometimes I rip it off TV (Darlene from Roseanne especially- she's sort of the inspiration for Zenna).
Thanks again for the comments.
And Valkyrie, thank you too. I did a fake cover for that story and I'll post it sooner or later.

Also wanted to throw in that these stories are great, since I'm not sure if I have commented yet (and if I have it was a while ago). Keep up the good work, and the fake covers sound like an interesting addition. _________________ The truth is still out there. Will you be the one who finds it?
